Ask the Exec
Allison Kelley has served as the Executive Director of Romance Writers of America since 1995. She will be speaking to HBA at the meeting Feb. 16, about recent changes in RWA policy regarding publishers and PAN membership, as well as RWA’s tax-exempt status and how that relates to chapters. Then she will take questions from the members. As Executive Director, Allison manages RWA programs and services and a staff of nine. She attends all Board meetings, and she works with RWA’s professional consultants to ensure regulatory compliance and to minimize the association’s exposure to risk. Allison serves as RWA’s representative to the Authors' Coalition and on RWA’s Summit Team. A former banker and accounting manager, Allison works with the finance committee and treasurer in overseeing all financial aspects RWA. Allison, a native Houstonian, lives in northwest Harris County with her husband and two sons. She is a graduate of the University of Texas, a member of American Society of Association Executives, and Past President of Houston Society of Association Executives. Allison earned the designation Certified Association Executive in December 2006. |
